To build your own home bar table you will need to prepare the following materials. This project can be done alone or with an assistant.

Grout
Sponge
Foot protectors or pads
Float
Trowel
Mortar
Tile caps
Mosaic or glass tiles

Screws (2-inch)

Lumber connectors (4″ x 4″ post anchor)

4′ x 8′ of 3/4″ thick plywood for the top
4″ x 4″ wood lumber for the legs

Step 1
Saw the 4 x 4 lumber. Make four pieces each 4 ft long.
Step 2
Saw the plywood so it is 5 ft long and 2 ft wide.
Step 3
Put plywood on the floor, underside up. Join the lumber connectors to it. Put these 3 inches from the plywood corners. Screw them in place.
Step 4
Screw the legs to the lumber connectors. You can drill holes and use the 2 inch screws for this purpose.
Step 5
Turn the home bar table up. Use the level to check if it is even.
Step 6
Set the pads on the 4 x 4. This will prevent the table from scratching your floor.
Step 7
Put the tiles on the counter. You can go for 2 x 2 ceramic or glass tiles. Mosaic tiles are easier to put on. Put the mortar on using the float and trowel. Put each tile in place. Allow the tiles to dry. Leave it there overnight.
Step 8
After they have dried, add some grout using the float. Wipe the excess grout with the sponge. Let it dry overnight.
Step 9
After drying, paint the wood. You can also use stain. Let it dry for as long as necessary.
Step 10
Do one more cleaning up of the tiles. Ensure that there is no residue on the tiles. The top should be shiny. When it’s set, you can start putting in the drinks and other accessories.
Tips and Warnings
Ensure that you have gloves on when painting or applying stain. Needless to say you must have a concrete idea of the bar design. Make a detailed sketch of the bar. You’ll also want to take into account the number of stools you want the table to be able to hold.
Above all, take your time during the construction. Planning is the key to building a table properly and without problems.
